High Speed Intercept Craft / Long Range Insertion Craft

It's believed that the SBS use 2 types of HSICs. One is the VSV, a wave-piercing design with stealth characteristics. The other type is the FB MIL-50P. The FB MIL-50, produced by the Italian company, Fabio Buzzi Design, is powered 3 x 1000hp Seatek engines giving the boat a top speed of 70 knots.

These boats are ideal for rapid insertion / extraction of SBS teams as well as intercepting fast-moving drug-runners or terrorist vessels.
